RoboPhonics Linkpen is a comprehensive set of fonts designed for use with the RoboPhonics phonics programme.
These fonts will enable you to create your own resources, to supplement those already provided by RoboPhonics, so that you can tailor teaching resources to the needs of your pupils and create class and display resources in the RoboPhonics font.
RoboPhonics and Linkpen recognise that handwriting policies vary from school to school, so the RoboPhonics Linkpen font set provides some alternative joining options to cater for different handwriting styles. Specifically, there is a set of fonts that joins b, p, s and z (RoboPhonics Join Plus) and a set that does not (RoboPhonics Join). There is also a ‘slant’ font which gives a gentle, more realistic, slant to handwriting rather than a harsher, synthesized italics version.
RoboPhonics is a DfE-validated systematic synthetic phonics programme that enables busy practitioners to deliver phonics teaching in an effective and fun way. It is a scheme that builds in success, and builds on success, by linking learning to ensure children are able to ‘crack the code’ early on, and become enthusiastic and capable readers AND writers. RoboPhonics has carefully sequenced progression, structured planning and developed lesson routines to prevent cognitive overload and protect working memory for both teachers and pupils. With sequenced, planned and resourced lessons, teachers can concentrate on what they do best – teach to the needs of their children – and pupils can focus on learning not task, with the right balance of challenge, consolidation and retrieval practice. RoboPhonics structures, not stifles.
